Instead of disqualifying, discrediting, or distancing himself from David and Bathsheba, God redeemed them. A marriage that began with adultery, lying, murder, shame, and the death of a child is the marriage that God chose to continue the family tree of the Messiah. Why? This is what Jesus came to do, to save sinners, notorious sinners like you and me. We are the reason Jesus came.
